Why can't I log in again? It worked yesterday.
When returning to the elearning portal to continue with your course, please ensure that you are at the correct portal. SPI supports a number of elearning portals and sometimes users mistakenly try to log in to our main elearning portal. Most of our customized, corporate-based portals include the company name within the URL, and the company logo on the login page, as shown in the sample below. Check your registration email to reconfirm that you are using the right URL.
You can reset your password by clicking on the "I forgot my password" link on the log in screen, as shown here. Please ensure that you are on the correct portal before asking to reset your password.
A new password will be generated and sent to the email address you used when registering. Please set your spam or junk mail filters to allow emails from "geolearning.com".
How does VPN access or proxy servers affect my eLearning performance?
The eLearning courses operate somewhat differently than a normal web site. The courses open a session between the user’s computer and the course servers, creating a “persistent†connection. Because of this, caching and proxy servers can severely impact eLearning performance, as can VPN connections. To ensure optimum performance, please do the following:
- VPN - Disable VPN connection while accessing the eLearning as it is not needed. VPN access also introduces an additional layer of communication security which slows down eLearning performance.
- Proxy servers – Access the eLearning via a direct Internet connection, disabling or bypassing proxy servers. If you cannot do this, please converse with your IT staff and ask if http://learn.solutionselling.com can be added as a safe or pass-through address.
How do I review and/or retake the course assessment?
You can review and retake the course assessment multiple times after your first attempt. The first attempt at the course assessment must be done by accessing it while taking the eLearning course. Once you have taken it, you can review and/or retake the course assessment by using the following steps.
- Log in to the eLearning portal
- Go to your My Courses page
- Click on the Test(s) link (shown below) to review the testing information summary page for the desired course.
- The Course Assessment information (shown below) is towards the bottom of the summary page, after the module test information (the module review questions are not scored, hence they do not show as tests on this summary page).
You can review your most recent attempt by clicking on the Review link. This will open the post-test and allow you to step through the questions, reviewing your correct and incorrect choices. You can retake the test by clicking on the Re-test link. Note that your most recent test date and score are shown, as well as the number of times you have taken the test, and the total number of times allowed.
How do I turn off pop-up blockers so I can view the eLearning?
Pop-up blocker functionality is now part of most browsers. It is also part of some common browser plugin tool bars, such as those from Google and Yahoo. Here is information related to the pop-up blocker built into Internet Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, point to Pop-up Blocker, and then click Pop-up Blocker Settings
- If you want to see pop-up windows from a specific Web site, type the address (or URL) of the site in the Address of Web site to allow box, and then click Add. For the SPI eLearning, please add: learn.solutionselling.com as an allowed site.
Please refer to the information associated with your browser plugins, such as the Google tool bar, for details on other pop-up blockers and their settings.
How do I run a report on my status or the status of students assigned to me?
The elearning portal provides basic reporting capabilities. On the Welcome page, click on Administration > Reports. This will take you to the Reports page. Using the menu on the left of the page (shown below), click on the System Reports option.
The System Reports page shows available reports. The reports available to you depend on your enrollment status, as an individual or supervisor.
Individual - If you are an individual learner, you will see the following report list. Click on the Run icon to access the report page, which will allow you to set specific parameters before viewing the report. Note that the report can be output in PDF, Excel, RTF or Word document formats.
Supervisor - If you have students assigned to you as a team or learning leader, you will see the following list of reports. Click on the Run icon to access the desired report page, which will allow you to set specific parameters before viewing the report. Your report will show your status, as well as the status of learners assigned to you. Note that reports can be output in PDF, Excel, RTF or Word document formats.
How does automatic bookmarking work?
The Solution Selling® course is divided into a series of modules and lessons. The system automatically tracks your location when you exit (using the "X" button in the top nav bar). It returns you to the beginning of the lesson that you were in when exiting the course, rather than the page you were last on. The intention of this is to allow you to review the most recent learning before continuing. This is particularly helpful if your last access to the course was a week or more prior to returning.
Please note that you can use the Show Menu button, in the upper navigation bar, to go to specifc modules and lessons within the course, as show below.
How many times can I take the course?
You have unlimited access to your courses for a period of one year. You can take the course, or review any module or lesson, as often as you choose. The Show Menu and Course Map buttons in the top navigation bar provide the means for you to go directly to various parts of the course.
